根據保險業(徵費)規例規定，保險業監管局(“保監局”)作為獨立的監管機構，可通過向保單持有人收取保費徵費，達成財政獨立以支持運作。保監局宣佈於2018年1月1日起，保險公司將替保監局向所有保單(除豁免保險種類外)收取保費徵費，保單持有人必須按法例規定繳交該徵費。
